A bit more Dartford tidying up

A few bits of local knowledge for your perusal...

The Bird In Hand, Dartford Road seems to have a "now its open, now its shut" existence. At the moment it is shut, boarded up and has been for several months. I would hazard a guess it won't reopen if the current website message is anything to go by. http://www.birdinhand.me.uk/

The Chequers, Darenth Road South should really be located under Darenth.

The Fox & Hounds at Lane End - Lane End is little more than a row of houses, shop and pub on the outskirts of Darenth - I wouldn't even think most people in Dartford would know where it is but the pub certainly shouldn't be under the main Dartford heading. Either Lane End or Darenth is a safer option.

The Ship, Puddledock Lane. Technically it is Dartford but realistically it would be better under Hextable. The local archaic parish laws state that there cannot be any pubs in Hextable so the Ship stands about 10 yards inside the Dartford boundary but just a couple of hundred yards from the middle of the village. It is of more use to Hextable than it is to Dartford!

Hi Roger,

We have marked the Bird In Hand as closed (love the web site link). Moved The Chequers and The Fox & Hounds to Darenth. And moved The Ship to Hextable.

Thanks for all those, definitely happy to prefer local knowledge over my own, chose not to add Lane End as I think too many locations can be more confusing.
