Sunday 5-Saturday 11 June Summertime Blues Mini Beer Festival at the Rook & Gaskill, Lawrence Street, York 18 beers at any one time and lots of live music.


Thursday 9-Sunday 12 June Real Ale & Cider Festival as part of the Gate to Southwell Folk Festival www.southwellfolkfestival.org.uk


Friday 10-Saturday 11 June Kirkburton Beer Festival at Scout HQ, Hallas Road, Kirkburton HD8 0QQ, third beer festival by the Kirkburton Uniformed Scout & Guide group, proceeds towards the Scout Hut repair and restoration funds. Friday night – pie and pea supper, raffle and quiz Saturday entertainment - Kirkburton Rapier Dancers, Live Music, Barbecue, raffle, plus family day (games and activities for youngsters) At least 12 Beers to suit all tastes, plus cider, wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee. £5 entry includes lucky programme, glass and beer tokens. Buses 80, 81, 82, 83,, 83A, 84, 85. 85, mostly from Huddersfield, some from Scissett/ Denby Dale.


Friday 10-Saturday 11 June First Leven Beer Festival in the Courtyard of the New Inn with any beer left over sold off on the Sunday. Provisional details: 25 different Real Ales will be available – served from two bars (with a small number served by handpump. These will be obtained through Great Newsome Brewery. 3 ciders will be available. These will be obtained locally from Rob at Moorlands Farm.Opening hours are likely to be: Friday 6-midnight; Saturday 12 – midnight, and Sunday (if necessary) 12 – sell out. Entrance probably £2 to include souvenir glass.

Friday 17-Sunday 19 June First Beer Festival at the Field Head, Quarmby Rd, Quarmby, Huddersfield HD3 4FB.20 beers, local and national, will be available. Basket meals and light bites until 7pm each day. On Saturday evening vocalist/guitarist Don Quixote will entertain.Bus 357 leaves Huddersfield bus station at 30 minutes past the hour, but there is not a great evening or Sunday service i.e. a few 353s, so a bit of a walk (5-15 mins) from various other bus stops may be needed - check out Journey Planner at www.wymetro.com .
