    You can get X Country trains from Reading to Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the North West. They do cheap advance tickets but I've no real idea how cheap they are or how quickly they get snapped up. Given that they are a maximum of five coaches in length I suspect they get taken up quickly.
    The hour journey just to get to Waterloo is a pain in itself let alone the cost. I don't like travelling from Paddington and Marylebone because of the extra tube travel.

    After creeping towards it over the last few weeks ETA has reached the 2000 mark, no doubt aided by the Somerset Ale Trail. Congratulations!
