Whilst persuing the latest email notifications of pubs I've reviewed, I see that Aqualung has surpassed the 2,000 review barrier!

Well done sir - here's to many more!

Many thanks to you all and it is just a number! September will see a slow down as my only foray (as opposed to days out) is the Llanbedr beer festival with just lots of Welsh beers. I've slowed down quite a lot since completing the JDWs as there aren't all the places I would never have thought of visiting! I've missed a few days out this summer because of the heat but only where the advance fare is a cheap write off. Days out in Wolverhampton seem to have degenerated into the Lych Gate, a bite to eat in the JDW followed by the Great Western. And Why Not? as Barry Norman didn't once say.

I don't mind most Fullers beers, it's just the prices in their pubs. In supermarkets their beers are priced just the same as all the others. I did their 200 pub passport 25 years ago so have probably been to all of them in your manor. A lot of London JDWs have obviously been instructed to sell London Pride but in the Wanstead George it's £2.79 as opposed to the £2.19 for the usually superior guest ales. I've heard that their only East London outlet (Docklands isn't East London) the Anchor and Hope in E5 is up for sale.
At least they aren't the complete basket case that is Youngs!

Many thanks and yes it is more difficult but my current strategy is to visit new interesting looking ones and anything else nearby. I'm not keen on big city centres (apart from Liverpool & Newcastle) and much prefer going to the suburbs. I really don't mind going back to old haunts and this Saturday is a Dark Star foray into Sussex. At least the rail fare is cheap!

Would that be in connection with Brighton and Hove Beer Week?

Mind you, while there's bound to be cask ale a-plenty, many of the specials and one-offs are likely to be cask keg and priced accordingly.

I'm planning to be in the Brighton Beer Dispensary and Price Albert at least next Saturday.
