Been in many good pubs on trip through Derbyshire and Staffordshire, with another hugely enjoyable visit to The Great Western in Wolverhampton which is the perfect place if you have time to kill at the station for a pint of Batham's Bitter and a hot pork bap.

However POTM goes to The Dewdrop Inn , Ilkeston. The name may well be a play on words,as Al10000 noted a previous name, but that aside this pub is worth visiting for the authentic late Victorian interior ,excellent ale and friendly welcome.A pleasure to drink in and worth an extended stay.Thankfully only a short walk from the Erewash Canal.

Since it just missed out being my PotM last month and I had a return visit for its Imperial Russian Stout Festival, the Dial Arch in Woolwich has got to be my contender for this month. Woolwich is woefully short of good pubs and this recent addition to the scene is most welcome. A great clash of new styles in old maritime buildings, a bit quirky and, despite being a Youngs pub, some decent guest beers. A bit pricey but worth a look.

I would have to choose the Star at Vogue in Cornwall. It is a friendly pub doing brill cheap meals, and they get some guest beers in Sadly we haven't done many round here yet, but all that will change. Having a look round Plymouth today.

My pub of the month goes to the Snowshill Inn in the village of Snowshill, this is a lovely cotswold village and the pub is just as nice a single room Donnington tied house,i could have stayed here all day but as usuall more pubs to do.

A tough call between The Sun Inn in Stafford, a great Titanic venue with fantastic beer range, and The Great Western in Wolverhampton which gets the nod on the basis of authenticity and top quality Bathams Bitter.

Tough call, really can't decide between the Bull in Chichester, now a 'real ale and sausages' house, or the Minerva or the Fortescue in Plymouth.

That'll be good news for us forthcoming Chichester crawlers.

I'm going to have to vote the Ashton Arms in Oldham as my pub of the month.

It's done nothing extra to be awarded it this month. But it's an absolute life saver when crawling through the good pub desert that is Oldham as I was one Friday last month.

Thanks for being there for me, when I needed you.

A pub with good beer in a desert is great. Like a pub with bread rolls instead of al le carte.
