    Default Off-licence Recommendations

OK, so this is slightly off-topic, given the website and forum are mainly about pubs, but I guess we all like beer and sometimes buy it from off-licences.

My recent research into finding a number of bottled beers, from a wide shopping list, has uncovered a few gems. Does anybody have any recommendations besides the ones that I have listed below:

Bernie's Real Ale Off-Licence: 266, Cranmore Boulevard, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands B90 4PX Tel: 0121 744 2827. It's GBG listed, and has been since the 1980's. It has 5 cask ale handpulls so you can take in your own container and bring away real ale to drink at home. No website though.

Favourite Beers, Cheltenham. An impressive range of bottled beers (some bottle conditioned) on their website http://www.favouritebeers.com/

Beers of Europe, King's Lynn. The name is a bit misleading - they stock beers from around the world! http://www.beersofeurope.co.uk/

Does anyone know of any similar off licences?

Beer Ritz in Leeds is a shop with a website run by Zac Avery, one of the "craft beer" champions (as was discussed in other threads) and an excellent range of beers.

Closer to home down in the West Country Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbott have a bottled beer shop which is worth a look.

I should have said that what I also liked about Bernie's was the range of bottled beers that is different from the normal uninspiring canned and ubiquitous products you find in your typical local offy

I had not heard of Tipplers before. Could be one to visit on my next Severn Valley Railway crawl http://www.bewdley.actinet.net/tipplers/main.htm

I see that Beer Ritz has the Samuel Smith's bottled beers I was looking for!

No hesitation in recommending this one. The Ale and Whisky Shop in Masham's Mill an outlet centre just outside Cromford in Derbyshire. Ale's to die for, mainly northern or Scottish and more scotch than you could shake a stick. It ain't cheap but, hey, never mind the cost, sup the quality..........
Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........

I tried to Google it and found an article about Masson Mills but in doing so I found that it referred to some other similar outlets, some of which sell Samuel Smith's. Liquid Treasure on King Street, Belper was another one mentioned

http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/ne...l/article.html was the article I found but the author wrote a follow-up specifically about the Real Ale and Whisky shop:
