Like the sound of that Oggy. Love the Citra hop. 'ROBCamra', 'oldboots' and I voted Raw 'Grey Ghost' beer of the festival at the last Todmorden bash, so it sounds like they've got another winner.

Managed a night out in Leeds this week. Made a big effort to go to some less familiar places. Tried:

    Tetley - Mild.
    Leeds - Pale.
Summer Wine Brewery - Nerotype #1 Black IPA.
    Liverpool Organic - Rakau.
    Liverpool Organic - Shipwreck IPA.
    Wensleydale - Poacher.
    Ilkley - Black Summit IPA.
    Butcombe - Old Vic Porter.
    Thwaites - Wainwright.
    Ilkley - Black.
    Harviestoun - Bitter & Twisted.

Black IPA's seem to be increasingly popular and the Nerotype certainly wins Challenging BOTW. It tasted incredibly verdant, but with a back note I thought was like fresh garden mint! However, the main prize was easily between the Old Vic and the Shipwreck. Winner: Liverpool Organic - Shipwreck IPA.

An interesting week for beers, the Ossett By George and IJPA were specials probably never to be seen again.

    Roosters - Wild Mule
    Ossett - Silver King
    Ossett - Blonde
    Ossett - By George
    Ossett - IJPA
    Gt Newsome - Mad Hares
    York - Ghost
    Thornbridge - Wild Swan
    Acorn - Barnsley Bitter
    Black Sheep - Bitter
    Copper Dragon - Freddie Truman
    Stella
    Jennings (Marstons) - Golden Host
    Roosters - Leghorn
    Toad - Tadpole
    Salamander - Nighthawk
    Hadrian & Border - Gladiator

Some great beers especially the Ossett specials and the last three on the list, also a couple that were real dross but BOTW was Salamander Night Hawk

    Some variety this week:
    Fullers London Pride & ESB
    Salopian Darwin Origin
    Oakham Bishops Farewell
    St Austell Proper Job
    Brains SA

Again the Darwin Origin was excellent but BOTW was Fullers ESB. Hats off to Fullers who've clearly expanded over recent years but unlike some breweries!!, have maintained quality of ale.

An honourable mention for Fullers ESB in line with Mr Phat but the main drinking event later in last week was sampling a few of the Wetherspoon's festival ales armed with my discount vouchers.Managed to get through eight, the best of which and my BOTW being Daleside White Beir in the unlikely surroundings of The Hamilton Hall after missing my train at Liverpool Street. It slipped down a treat after a sweaty ride on the tube.

With an honourary mention to Ringwood Old Thumper which doesn't seem to have suffered from the Marstonisation, tried in The Baum.

Also Kelham Island Red Molly & Wadworth 125 Celebratory Stout tried in The Regal Mon.

The winner is going to be the 125 Celebratory Stout.
