Default Further news on opeings and closures.

The White Lion Of Mortimer in Mitcham had it's last day of trading today.

The Penny Black in Kidderminster is being ditched by September next year.

An application has been made for a licence at the former Bonaparte's Bar on Glasgow Central Station. If that is approved then I would expect it to open before the summer of next year despite there already being two outlets very close. I like Glasgow so look forward to another visit.

Whatever the real story, it has made the nationals.

There are two good Spoons in Exeter and that isn't one of them (nor is the Sawyers Arms).

Having spent some time in a few JDWs this week I have noticed a few developments.

I get the impression that they seem to be standardising the pricing of beer to £2.15 for a standard guest or even any guest in outlets that were previously more expensive.

Doom Bore has been reduced in price and in a £2.15 standard guest place is now £1.99 although I wouldn't pay £0.99 for that rubbish.

They seem to have ditched the drinks menu so there is no way of knowing if you can get three Pathmaker IPAs for a fiver plus various other examples. If they want to cut down on table clutter then they should get rid of all the idiotic Brexit propaganda.

I suspect that's why they've done away with the drinks menus.

A closure has come partially out of the blue. It's the last day for the Moon Under Water in Balham today.

Wetherspoon plans national museum in Wolverhampton

“We also feel the museum will prove popular with people who want to know more of the history of the company and see artefacts from the past."

No, it's not April 1st. Which artifacts from JDW's past would we like to see?

A museum devoted to historic pub memorabilia in general could be quite appealing. A museum of Tim Martin's ego less so
