I don't get this. I suspect the "Standard" (sadly not the one edited by the idiot George Osborne) has screwed up big time here. Dogs haven't been allowed in JDWs for many years now, so many that I couldn't even tell you when the ban was introduced. I remember seeing a letter in the Wetherspoon Propoganda Sheet where they said it was because the pubs are too busy.

The same press release is quoted on myriad local paper web sites, and the Morning Advertiser. Eddie Gershon is a PR company, not a JDW staffer. I can't find the actual press release anywhere, not least on JDW website, but there is a FAQ which says some pubs allow dogs on eads in gardens.

    Do you welcome dogs?

While we are fond of dogs, we permit only registered assistance dogs inside our pubs and hotels. To avoid any confusion or unnecessary upset, please ensure that your dog is wearing the recognisable leash/collar or harness. It would also be helpful if you could bring along suitable documentation to explain the dog’s purpose.

A limited number of pubs do permit dogs on a lead into the garden and/or other external areas. Please check directly with the pub which you are planning to visit.

The new St Pancras Wetherspoons The Barrel Vault will be unbranded and bespoke and will have an outside area facing Pancras Rd.And imo will be selling the dearest Mcspoons beer in London.Still it will be cheaper than the poxy Betjeman so that's a result.

I'd heard about it being unbranded but will the menus be? Will it be dearer than the Victoria Station one? Time will tell. Re the unbranded issue it doesn't appear as a forthcoming pub on their website. Maybe it's going to be an undercover JDW!
I'm hoping to get a SE train from there in October so will probably look in then. Meanwhile I'll continue to use the Highbury one for breakfast and / or unlimited coffee if getting a mid morning train from the N London stations.
