Precisely the reason I generally avoid them, not just because few now are pubs rather than conversions, but their low prices can be the death knell for traditional pubs with their far higher overheads.

Had 3 pints in Wetherspoons last night and met a couple of guys I know who regularly drink in them as they no longer can afford to drink in Brentfords normal pubs.My 3 pints cost me £7 using one voucher.I now try to fit a Wetherspoons pub into any crawl I do.

The pub scene is almost a replica of society with the middle getting hollowed out. The very big like Wetherspoons and the small such as niche micropubs seem to be doing alright.

I had a similar experience last summer at White Horse. What is it with these solipsistic t***s who think that they can behave however they like, that all around should put up with their behaviour? "We were gobsmacked and have been annoyed ever since.", the victims of Bhopal share your pain.

Utter pub hell. I can only imagine the rumpus when the bride finds out that the groom has just been shagging her Maid of Honour in the kazi.
