That ends the longest stretch of no pubs on the Otley Run!

    Looks like a canteen.

And all high chairs. Wheelchair users left staring at table legs. And a fiver says the bogs are a staircase away. Sigh.

Looks like there are a mix of table types (not all high), and I won't pre-judge the toilets until I visit.

    Yes, I'm engaging in sarcasm.

The building was starting to look very sad when I used to drive past, the graffiti alone was horrendous. I'm no fan of 'spoons but they have certainly given the old girl some of her dignity back. Hard to work out what they've spent £4million on, though.

I read somewhere (Evening Post?) that Otley runners won't be allowed in. Easy enough if they're wearing fancy dress, otherwise, good luck policing that one!

A manager (possibly rattled) from a nearby bar described it as 'an airport lounge'.

I think it's going to make an absolute mint. On the edge of studentland, plus a few minutes walk away from the rugby and cricket grounds.

I used to go to Arcadia or the Cardigan Arms - occasionally both - before Leeds Rhinos games back in pre-history. I think I'll still be maintaining my 'Spoons boycott when normal service is resumed.

I'd expect no less, but not everyone is as discerning as you, Will.
