But it's far colder in early November and the pubs were closing at 22.00 last year. The government imposed this to restrict alcohol consumption, not of course that people would just drink faster. If Timbo wants to close at 22.00, he'll lose custom to other pubs - his loss, not that it'll affect me. And last night it was incredibly hot here, parks overflowing late into the night with drinkers wearing T-shirts and shorts, me desperately regretting having gone out with a jacket on.
