Provisionally the name is the Barrel Store with an opening date of November 20th.

Great! I'll have an excuse to return to Glasgow. I much prefer it to Edinburgh which is tourist central.

It looks like the Grapes in Sutton is going to close by the end of next week and the Gold Balance in Kirkby, Merseyside by the 4th of October.

Great, now one can create the complete Wetherspoon's experience at home, 4 pack of Doom & a frozen ready meal from local supermarket, ping the meal, dob it onto the Vintage etc plate, tip some of the Doom on your carpet, sit & savour the atmosphere, maybe your partner could scowl to enhance the ambiance?

Ahh but aren't the carpets unique, sticky or otherwise?

I don't like these plates at all and if I remember rightly were preceded by square white plates. What really makes my blood boil is when you order a dish and it comes served in a bowl rather than a plate. Examples that spring to mind are haggis (in Scotland or Burns week), sausage & mash and worst of all the Lamb Shank.
