    To be fair they have 3 handpulls in there now since the rebranding. Deuchars IPA, Hooky Bitter and another that I can't recall right now.

    I was tempted into the Hammersmith Ram with a voucher for a free pint of Guinness, and (much to my surprise) found a calm and pleasant atmosphere with a band of local musicians playing some fine old Irish tunes. No nonsense at all, in fact!

    With 2 nicely poised Europa League matches at 6pm and 8pm I was hoping for a decent evening sprawl in front of the telly far away from any emerald shenanigans...until I got home to find an area cable fault had knocked our TV out for the evening . At least the Scouse game was on Channel 5 so only half a disaster.

    I think domestic performances could be seen as 100% unmitigated disasters, no halves about it.

    I find that drinking Guinness a lot like chewing burnt toast. An acquired taste that I never had. No , not even for free.
