Unable to post links to pictures, but some of the ones on Glasgow outskirts always frightened me off
Some looked like Rab C's evil twin would be inside

Nice looking pub, that!
If you're doing West Brom, the Vine on Roebuck Street is probably worth a visit. Within walking distance of Kendrick Park tram stop.
Also, I would like to know what the Old Hop Pole is like, as thats on my next Midland Metro ale crawl for the future, ta

Already visited the Vine two years ago.. Nice pub with curry house in same building. I went there for pre drink before WBA Vs Plymouth game.
I already noted down Old Hop Pole down on my list of pubs.

What parts of Glasgow you are speaking of?
Never been to Glasgow. Been to Edinburgh, great pubs around city especially pubs with old buildings. Royal Mile has cracking pubs all way to Edinburgh Castle.

For instant second after clicking on link, I was like "Forget it!"
Can you find more dodgy looking pubs than this one?
EDIT: Picture was took in 1990's.. there is another 30 to 40 pictures of pubs around black country was also took in 1980's and 90's by same person.
I'll guess I'll bring my digital camera to replace old photographs..
We can see the embedded data in the photograph, in the case of the Island Inn, it is implying that it was taken in February 2008 using a reasonable handheld digital camera. The clock could be wrong, although the camera would not have existed more than 4 years ago, and he may have taken a photo of the developed image - but it does look a little good. Or he could have forged the data, but that is a little extravagant.
I know given the prices outside it makes no sense, but there we are.
If it is old though, I am still glad we have it, but we do need to give users the ability to comment on when the images were taken.

I have to admit I am more wondering if it has closed, but the signage would have been vandalised I would think. Still it is a mystery to be solved.
Agree it looks more like a tire place though.
Edit: Still on Royal Mail, I don't believe those prices or the colour scheme myself though.
