    Hi Farway,

Don't worry Dave deals with those, and where it is users we know we tend to take it on faith.

    Thanks for letting us know,

    Conrad

    Farway,

I've taken a look at the George & Falcon map.

I see that if you look just at the Google Map then it appears that the current point is in the middle of the River Meon. However if you switch the map into Satellite view you find the river isn't much more than a stream at the rear of the pub and has been exaggerated somewhat on the map.

After zooming in on the Satellite image I can see that the building under the current marked appears to be the pub. (Judging by this photo http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/239490).

So for that reason I have left the current marker point as the approved one, hopefully at some stage in the future the mapping technology that Google are using will make that point not appear to be under water!

Agreed, river is more stream at rear, in fact it supplies the water for the famous watercress beds next door

The garden of the pub has this river [stream] at the side & end of it, if & when Google get corrected I will come back, until then, you are right

Just to back up what Dave is saying here. The satellite view is the more accurate in terms of coordinates, so for those using GPS getting it right on the satellite view is the one that is better (and as Dave suggests Google may well change their interpretation of the satellite at some point).

Reason I mention all this is to drop a link in to the new phone Layar stuff we have just done which uses GPS points.
