If you want to be compared to a JDW, then yes.

In fairness to 'Spoons, they do at least get some exclusive brews in for the festivals (for better or worse) and resurrect a few lost ales that some of us never got round to the first time. That's far more than most chains would attempt.

Its a fair reply, my instant thought was "How many chains would have the purchasing power?"

Office answer was "More than you might imagine."

Ok, renewed the Beer fest page.

Alesonly and RogerB, let me know if you want those visible records removed. Basically it is where JDW is duplicating Ciders and Perry from the last fest and you tried them then, I am not sure if you want to lose that record for this or not.

Just one Light Mild and one Chocolate?! Mild.

At least there is a Highgate / Davenports ale in there. I like Fox's Nob but it must have been sexed up to 5% for the beer festival.

Managed to kick off my campaign this lunchtime at Wakefield 'spoons (Six Chimneys). Rather disappointing to see the usual nonsense of having three non-feastival beers badged as such. The young barman couldn't quite grasp why this might be annoying. Tried the following:

    14. Batemans -All Seasons. Typical Batemans malt character. not unpleasant but not a lot of excitement, flavour wise. A half was enough.

    32. Feral Brewery - Feral The Runt. Loved this. Wonderful tropical fruit flavours from the Citra Hops. Not particularly complex, but perfect for a warm Spring day. Sunshine in a glass.

Made a good start on the Wetherspoons Beer festival yesterday and visited three different spoons and had my first Eight Pints.

Had the following Ales all were good from what I remember this morning. Its a good job I wrote them on the list as I went along.

    1) Caledonian Lip Smacker Lemon Ale
    2) Balast & Point Calico Amber
    3) Holden's April Showers
    4) Batemans All Seasons
    5) Big City Jamaica Stout
    6) Feral The Runt
    7) Shepherd Neame East Indian Pale Ale
    8) Leeds Doubting Tom

I won't be as insanely active for this festival as I am trying to impress upon my doctor that I'm not a raging alcoholic but the git keeps calling me in for blood tests so I will limit my drinking to the 50 ales and won't be doing the ciders - you can keep the records as they are.
