Taylor Walker
I may have been asleep under a bar somewhere, but was surprised to find that Punch are rebranding many of their pubs as Taylor Walker, allegedly as a competition to Nicholsons et al.
See http://www.taylor-walker.co.uk/
which incidentally offers a £5 voucher, and a good laugh at their somewhat-selective "history".
Have people noticed any real changes, or is it just a bit of paint?

Wonder how long it will be before Watney's is resurrected?

"One of the greatest British pub traditions is cask ale. Our teams work hard to look after our real ales so that you are always served the perfect tasting and looking cask ale. Every Taylor Walker pub serves Young's cask ale and in addition to this we also offer regional beers, specific to the pub's location, such as Fuller's London Pride, Greene King Abbot Ale, St Austell Tribute, Wadworth 6X and Charles Wells Bombardier."
Wow. I suppose the saving grace is that they haven't brought back TW bitter which was my prime reason for avoiding their pubs in Allied days.
The map is fascinating. Greenwich is now somewhere around Stansted and Isleworth has drifted off to deepest Oxfordshire. Whoever drew that must have had a heavy night

I've not knowingly been into one of these, but I'd happily put several CAMRA JDW vouchers on at least two of those 'regionals' turning up regardless of the location.

Well they could have every pub west of the A1 taking 6X and Tribute, every pub east of the M5-M6 having Abbott and Bombardier and everyone south of the Kyle of Lochalsh railway getting Pride. That should be regional enough don't you think?

I must have been in half a dozen of these newly branded TW pubs and haven't found anything inspiring about any of them.

Over the years I've been in seven or eight and there are a couple that I liked, but the rest were crap. I used to work in the George when it was a Rat and Parrot, I was desperate and only lasted a few days as the manager was a cock! I was in there for some football before Christmas and I didn't see any change.
