Terrible week for Beer only manged too visit Three Wetherspoons and out the three only two had Two Guest Ales on Rodger the Cabin Boy & Double Stout so I will go for the Hook Norton's Double Stout.

    Hook Norton's Double Stout

Is it just me being unlucky or have the spoons gone down hill lately with there choice of Ales.

Having got my taste buds back, we had a good week this week, and particularly enjoyed Mr Grundy's No Mans Land at Mr Grindys in Derby prior to the excellent beers we had at Derby fest. Having considered the options, I am giving BOTW to Tap House (new brewery) Taphouse Gold from the fest.

Regrettably another very quiet week but no shame in declaring Oakham Bishops Farewell as my BOTW again as it's the only pint I've quaffed and did so with great pleasure.

A bit of a mixed bag this week, in more ways than one. An unexpected flying visit to Sheffield, for a family funeral, enabled me to visit The Sheffield Tap, but since then I've caught Gill's heavy cold and not been able to taste a thing! Tried this week:

    Ossett - Oregon Pale.
White Horse - Black Horse Porter.
    Marstons - EPA
    Thornbridge - Wild Swan
    Thornbridge - Kipling
    Thornbridge - Jaipur
    Thornbridge - Raven.

Surprisingly, I found the Kipling rather subdued (end of barrel?), so BOTW goes to Raven.

Not a brilliant week until a new barrel of the Beast came on line.
So, yet again my BotW is Exmoor Beast.

There, I bet none of you expected that now, did you?
Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........

I'll join in this week and nominate Brewdog's marvellously hoppy Punk IPA sampled at Cask, Pimlico.

Second place goes to Hepworth Old.

    York Micklegate Porter - sublime

I put this in last week earlier by mistake having come over all pissed, too much Copper Dragon. Not as bad as using the ladies loo at Leeds Bus station by mistake (pissed) yesterday.

What's that line from Withnail & I? "we've gone on holiday by mistake"
