A couple of ales that deserve a mention - Barnsley Beer Company, new to me, Shut Thi Gob, a dangerously quaffable brown ale at 5.1% and Elland (again) Elland Back which may be the bitterest pint I've ever had but good stuff nonetheless at 4.6%. BOTW though goes to Oakham Bishop's Farewell, a regular tipple for me, pale, bitter but well balanced and extremely drinkable at 4.6%. I have to work hard not to have this as BOTW every week.

Don't know if it's me but there seems to be a lot of unusual Adnams pints flying around at the moment. Spotted Lighthouse, Gunhill, Oyster Stout and American Style IPA this week in various places - makes a change from the normal Bitter and Broadside. Had some old favourites as well this week (Mean Time Pale Ale, Dark Star Hophead, Sambrook Wandle, Bass) some of which have been my BotW in the past so I will stay in the Adnams camp and go for the American Style IPA at the Gate Clock in Greenwich. Will be back there tomorrow - hopefully will still have some on.

Unfortunately, didn't manage another session over the w/e, so Lucky7 is BOTW.

Managed to try the new beer from Sambrooks this week. I quite like their other beers, Wandle and Junction, and thought this was a decent addition to their range, so for that reason, I'll make Sambrooks Powerhouse Porter my BOTW.

Another beer free week, but will put that right this week, Derby fest looming 24 - 26 in a new venue and they say all beers on from the start.

Very few beers lately; most of my staggering about has been caused by being aboard storm-tossed ferries off Scotland’s west coast rather than intoxicating liquid.

Beer of the week, from an extremely small field, is St Austell’s Tinners.
And you can really taste the hops!

    Hi Trainman,

Yes i have to put my hands up i did go in there but in my defence it was about 11.00 Sunday morning and we were starving so it was a choice between Slug and lettuce or Postern Gate,we went for the one closest to the centre and the breakfast was very nice and there were two real ales on York Guzzler and Black Sheep bitter.

    Do you forgive me now.
