Early in the week I know, but as an update on my posting from the last 'Beer of the Week' - it's still Stewart Brewing, but the 6.2% stout Cauld Reekie has my vote now and I doubt whether I'll find better for the rest of the week.

A serendipitous visit to the Benenden Bull introduced me to Copper Top, a "premium ale" from the Old Dairy brewery, based just up the road in Rolvenden. This is a tawney, toffeeish beer, in the Late Red or Incubus style, very siutable for a dull winter day.I haven't yet had a duff beer from Old Dairy, and their Blue Top IPA is one of my staples for home consumption.

    Old Dairy keeps cropping up.
Can anyone advise a decent hostelry to sample a selection of their range? Preferably achievable by train or train&bus. Thanks.

A better week for beer for me than of late, I sampled the new brews from the Junction Brewhouse in York but BOTW goes to Harrogate's Daleside with Old Winters Tale.

Only the Fleetwood beer festival to find my BOTW in, and we had a lot of superb beers there.

BOTW is going to Merlin Dragon Slayer.
