    Default Pubs inaccessible by road

Paris has just added The Turf near Exminster to the site and I was intrigued by the map point so did a little more research.

Sure enough on their website they point out that the are one of the few pubs in the country that isn't accessible by road.

How many other examples can people think of? The only one that sprung to my mind was the Berney Arms near Great Yarmouth.

I think I posted this elsewhere on the Forum

It's only accessible by boat: I haven't got one so haven't been!

The Old Forge on the Knoydart Peninsula (it was mentioned on another thread recently) can only be accessed by boat, or via some tortuous 20 mile hike or something. It claims to be the most remote pub on the British mainland.
And you can really taste the hops!

The Bounty at Cockmarsh near Bourne End is accessible on foot along The Thames Path or by boat.

Similar to The Bounty mentioned by Maldenman, the Isis Tavern in Oxford is accessible only by foot or bike along the Thames footpath (or boat of course).

http://www.pubsgalore.co.uk/pubs/57923/ , has got a carpark but you have to cross a footbridge over the canal to get to the pub .

There is one in the middle of a wood somewhere near Stone in Staffordshire , only access is by foot , can not remember its name

Two that spring to mind are Fort of St George in Cambridge which is situated on Midsummer Common and is by the towpath of the River Cam ,and The Black Lion Inn at Consall Forge which is reached by crossing over the Caldon Canal and The Churnet Valley Steam Railway.I have only ever reached it by boat but there is a torturous route by car to a car park but you still need to walk from there.Delivering barrels of beer by anything other than train must be very tricky.

What about the Berney Arms, Great Yarmouth area. Accessible by boat or a not very regular train service, or a long walk along a footpath.
