Name change in Bath

The Belvoir Castle in Bath is now called The Victoria Works. This name change was apparently the subject of some opposition by locals, see http://bathpubs.co.uk/260/archive/victoria-works/ and http://www.thisisbath.co.uk/news/Pub...l/article.html.

In the latter piece the new owner is quoted as saying: "We want there to be much more of a mixed crowd. It will be for young families and students and not a local boozer. Everyone is welcome." Either that's a lousy bit of reporting or he didn't pay attention to what he was saying. Or perhaps "not a local boozer" was code for "I have barred all the people who opposed the change of name".
