    Default Your Christmas beer

Anyone getting in anything special (or mundane) for the season?

Earlier this evening, I picked up 17 pints of Dark Star Hophead, 4 pints of Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby mild & 2 pints of Dark Star Tripel. That'll have to do, what with the shops shut for a few days.

    Cheers

Not especially, but I did pick up a 500ml bottle of Piddle in the Hole for a quid in Morrison's, just could not resist the name.

Depends what I see in Asda tomorrow, if I can stand the crowds and do not flounce out

My Christmas day may be quite dry because I am over my son's and they are cola / Bailey's drinkers not beer / booze, so a glass or three of red wine may be all that is on offer apart from my solitary bottle of Piddle

I got a 4 x Sheps beers + 4 x Marstons beers in my secret Santa at work so that will formulate much of my Xmas home drinking although I will no doubt open a couple fo bottles of wine to go with them. Today's my last day at work so it will be all local pubs from now until the New Year.

Tonight will probably be my last visit to the pub until Monday so I've got a few bottles in to see me through. I'll visit the nearby specialist beer offy tomorrow for some more but so far I've got

Copper Dragon Golden Pippin (lots of bottles as a cooking bitter, just to line the stomach for the stronger ones below )

Robinson's Old Tom (might try the Ginger version as well)
Saltaire Chocoholic (for the xmas pud?)
    Brakspear's Triple
    Sam Smith's Imperial Stout
    St Bernardus Prior 8
    La Chouffe Blonde
    Westmalle
    Gordons Highland Scotch
Chimay Blue (someone on a blog said it's good with Turkey)

I also picked up a bottle of Fuller's 2010 Vintage Ale but I might put that away for a special occasion.

That lot ought to last through Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Sunday if I strengthen it with a few more.

Picked up a mini-keg of Bath Ales Festivity.

Sadly I was in a rush so I didn't have time to try out the Ginger Hare they had on tap, will try and pop back later.

Have my usual dozen bottles of London Pride in, which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone..

And as reported in the BoW thread , now cuddled up to a mini barrel of the Rebellion Brewery seasonal. But that was an impulse buy...

Must admit I tend to indulge my other love - red wine, rather than beer, at Christmas. Having said that, I've got a stash of Ossett 'Blonde' & 'Treacle Stout', with a slab of Oranjeboom for the non-believers.

Might just have to try that as a chaser!
