Friday stats (Picture posters)
I am going to try and regularly post up some stats about the site to try and see what interests people.
This is a list of our most prolific 20 picture posters.
24019 pictures against 8345 pubs john mcgraw
13226 pictures against 3242 pubs Graham Mason
3385 pictures against 3384 pubs Jim Newell
3233 pictures against 2076 pubs peter ashworth
1741 pictures against 1432 pubs James Joines
1496 pictures against 1084 pubs Wynne Route
1062 pictures against 1022 pubs Alexander Kapp
966 pictures against 815 pubs Philip Carter
839 pictures against 551 pubs peter crosby
830 pictures against 800 pubs david johnston
825 pictures against 814 pubs Andy Hemingway
803 pictures against 641 pubs Andrew Evans
780 pictures against 429 pubs Michael Wright
766 pictures against 694 pubs Colin Spiller
630 pictures against 558 pubs Carl Baker
476 pictures against 341 pubs Dave McNally
443 pictures against 350 pubs Dale Miles
382 pictures against 277 pubs Anthony Collis
320 pictures against 313 pubs Tony Jaglo
296 pictures against 249 pubs Andy Ven
It is interesting that some of those posters have different priorities in the style of pictures they post. Or to put it another way, just because a pub has pictures against it, don't feel you shouldn't contribute more.
These numbers are actually fairly easy for us to access, and we could publish them on the site. We have always shied away from it so far though as we are concerned that as someone just starting out some of those numbers could seem a little overwhelming and put you off before you get going. (Although of those 20, Graham Mason (#2) is the member who has joined most recently)
Let me know what you think, does this sort of thing interest you?
Also feel free to ask me about any stats you would like to know about and I can see if we can find them.

Interesting to see the stats for picture posting
When I first started posting on here I sort of set a target of about 50 assuming pubs within easy reach of me, however I soon found I was "chasing" other posters, more of a challenge than putting me off, but seeing the likes of the top 5 I will never get that far
As I am at 780, and have just uploaded 8 more and have a few in the PC waiting for processing, and out tomorrow in Pompey to catch the 3 "strays" along the Eastern Road that I know of, I think I will be around the 1000 mark by year end, nice round number
PS Just had a check on Pompey pubs. Following tomorrow's outing I will have photographed every pub showing on the PG Portsmouth pages, well except Lloyds N1 on the Boardwalk, but I don't class that as Portsmouth really as it is Port Solent and nearly Portchester or Cosham. But I will sacrifice myself and do it anyway
A labour of love as they say, now where is my liver?
Opps, just spotted Pompey are playing Everton at home tomorrow http://www.football.co.uk/fixtures/p...th/index.shtml
That should make Commercial & Eastern Roads interesting. Good job I have completed the Fratton ones

Hi Farway,
I think these snapshot stats are in some ways useless, I am kind of interested more in weekly/monthly stats which I think are more encouraging as you can see more about behaviour than long serving. Would love to hear off people what sort of things would encourage/motivate them to post more. John McGraw & Graham Mason would still regularly top those stats as they are workhorses in the way they contribute, it is astounding and I do fear for their livers. It would also allow people like yourself who is a consistent steady contributer clearly see that reflected though.

Well as you already spotted it is just because we won't approve your pictures .

The prolific posters must travel around a lot, the vast majority of potential posters are in one place, be it village, town or city and only travel when on holiday
Thus they would post most of the local ones then dry up until travel beckoned
Perhaps sort of "local rep" would help? "rep" maybe wrong name as obviously not represent PG, maybe "reporter" for instance?
Just an idea Guv

It is something I alluded to in another thread, we wouldn't mind letting trusted local reps take more control of their area one day.
One of the things I am not sure if members think about is their privacy, if you just review extremely local pubs people may be able to work out roughly where you live. We have previously considered allowing maps on a members page to show roughly where they have worked, and for the the moment shied away from it for fear it is a bit too obvious.

Hi all,
I admire the dedication of the people on that list. I have only put 39 pictures on but the strange thing is none are of my local pubs ! Not even any pubs in the west Midlands. I only seem to bother taking photos when i am on holiday - and believe me that annoys my other half !!
Cheers,
Del.

Yes, I know that feeling, I do always carry a camera around on holiday so make sure I get as many pubs as possible but am less keen to carry a camera at home.
That said about half the photos I've put on here are of relatively nearby pubs.

Much Respect to these top posters for their dedication to the cause. I would love to get out more with the camera, not so much for a pub crawl, just to take more photos. However its not to be and I am grateful a photo is available when I come to write a review.
Noway will I ever join this list of Immortals.
