Well somebody's had a good week. That Hooky Gold must be good stuff (never tried it) as there are several on your list that I've previously nominated.

Mine a couple of weeks ago. Our tastes seem very similar. I think I could probably buy you and 'trainman' a pint without asking what you wanted! Glad you can make Brum, by the way.

A straight fight this week between Wentworth Imperial and Theakstons Paradise Ale. Surprisingly the Theakstons Paradise Ale just wins because not only is it a good beer it is very different for Theakstons to produce a beer like this.

Having navigated up the tidal Thames, under Tower Bridge, past the Houses of Parliament, dodging the high speed catamarans etc arriving in Brentford always brings a feeling of relief .Piled into The Magpie and Crown to be faced with a handpump dispensing Marble W90,beautifully crisp, bitter and flavoursome for a 3.9% brew and a very worthy BOTW.Back this Friday for another session hopefully on Ginger Marble/Manchester Bitter/Stouter Stout as long as the guv'nor can get hold of a barrel of one of those

This must be the most southerly outlet for Marble beers unless some wise sage on here can direct me elsewhere.

Had a pint of W90 in 57 Thomas Street (Manchester) on Thursday. It was fine, but personally I prefer Pint or Manchester Bitter for the crisp hoppy Marble taste.

I'm struggling to come up with an outstanding BOTW this week, but on countback I had three pints of one beer.

So BOTW is going to be Maryrose from Hornbeam.

There are many beers from the weekend which I'm sure were great but of which the memory is dulled, so I'll opt for the national champion which kicked off the whole jamboree at the Vat&Fiddle. Botw Castle Rock Harvest Pale, at a marvellous price of £0.00, as one of the group turned up with an impressive stack of 'one-over-the-eight' vouchers, a collection evidently born of some decent previous sessions.

You are very fortunate to be able to sample those beers regularly,it can be really grim down south on the ale front

I had a bit of a mixed bag in terms of good beer at the Croydon and Sutton Beer Festival this week.
A few stood out though, namely Brodies Mild and Twickenham Sundancer, but my BOTW (and beer of the festival nomination), was Adur Black William Stout - exactly the sort of beer I hope to be drinking over the coming months.

Only once to the pub this week, a very average pint of Shep's Masterbrew. My BOTW is a bottle of Gadd's Black Pearl Oyster Stout : as it says on the label"luscious and bible black" Excellent.
