Default Beer of the Week (w/e 17 October 2010)

    Seeing as Conrad's forgotten again...

A rare Monday night sortie to Leeds enabled me to check out the excellent new Veritas bar. (Plus a rather more forgettable visit to the Lloyds No 1: Hedley Verity.) Tried Titanic 'Last Porter Call', WharfeBank 'Black Tom', Saltaire 'Cascade' and Ilkley 'Mary Jane'. The Cascade was excellent and is in the lead so far.

    rpadam: Fuller's Red Fox
    Oggwyn Trench: Osset Quick Silver
    oldboots: Theakstons Paradise Ale
    Bucking Fastard: Marble W90
    ROBCamra: Hornbeam Maryrose
    trainman: Castle Rock Harvest Pale
    Pubsignman: Adur Black William Stout
Wittenden: Gadd's Black Pearl Oyster Stout
    aleandhearty: Brew Dog Edge
HTM69: Old Dairy Brewery Gold Top
    RogerB: Adnams Explorer
    gillhalfpint: Toad Texas Frogspawn Massacre
    Millay: Orkney Dark Island

Two beers which both warrant a mention, Marble W90 at 3.9% is very difficult to put down but to my surprise has been topped by Brewdog 5am Saint making it my beer of the week.

Was very impressed with Lytham IPA at Mr Foley's Cask Ale House earlier in the week.
It's not big and it's not clever

    Hi Chris,

As we are already talking in the background I am guessing you roughly know who I am, Dave M also helps me with the administration of the site, and if you have any problems, queries or suggestions don't hesitate to let either of us know.

Thanks a lot for joining in, and hope you enjoy your stay.

A very small selection sampled this week, and given that several of these were distinctly quick pints of TetleySmithsSuperChilledBrownStuff then the choice comes down to Youngs Ordinary, Courage Best, Brew Dog Trashy Blonde, Shepherd Neame Late Red and Fuller's seasonal Red Fox (which just about comes out on top).
