Just been farting around on the internet and came across this gem:

Wonder who got into it?
Just noticed that all readers get a free can of Skol too - classy.

A News of the World pub guide advertised by Jim Bowen with the obligatory buxom barmaid complete with 1970’s perm, people drinking lager out of pint pots and you can win a can of Skol. As you say ‘classy’, the advert must be a few years old.
I've just joined Alcoholics Anonymous - I still drink, just under a different name.
And people say the eighties were crap!

Is the background voice Dave the barman from Minder???
Tricky..
My first reaction was Bob Hoskins as I definately got a 'Long Good Friday' vibe when hearing it...
But listened to it a couple of times now and I'm not too sure... but I probably still go with Bob.
And I keep expecting the legend that is Jim Bowen to put the can of Skol down and say "now let's see what you could have won"...
Work is the curse of the drinking Class - Oscar Wilde
Don't think so - Bob Hoskins is a better bet.
Here's Dave from Minder for comparison:

Doesn't sound like either to me, probably just some voice -over artiste maybe Cockney Wanker from Viz
After spending out on a big star like Jim Bowen there wouldn't be much left in the kitty for Hoskins or even Glynn Edwards. Rupert Murdoch didn't get to be a billionaire forking out for talent of that calibre .
