Default And you thought your beer list was an obsession!

Some of you may have come across John Adams, a 'Spoons fan that has visited virtually every 'Spoons in the country. He keeps an excellent thorough and up to date web page on current, former and forthcoming 'Spoons and as I was looking for info on a new 'Spoons due to open in Whitstable, I figured he would have the info. He didn't so I e-mailed him what details I had so he could add it to his list. He sent me an e-mail of thanks and I followed the attached link which led me to his own personal beer lists among other things. Keeping beer lists is one thing but this guy is surely the daddy of them all. The monthly totals and list in order of number of pints drunk are particularly impressive!

Thats a very impressive amount of serious drinking, especially as the ever delectable Courage Best and GK IPA are among the beers he has drunk the most.

I have a feeling that Mr Adams may have more lists for whatever else he gets upto in life.
Referring back to any pub I have visited means looking up PuG.I just don't keep lists. Beers are drunk and these days are soon forgotten. I am an untidy person by either nature or laziness, not good for being a list keeper. However I am inquisitive which leads to being acquisitive of facts and other mental rubbish which are piled away in an increasingly erratic memory.
I can understand some one wishing to keep a list of the beers they have drunk. When it comes to recording each half pint I have visions of compulsive hand washing, recording daily bodily functions and comprehensive shopping lists.

Well whatever turns you on. It takes all sorts to make the world go round.

Same here, went in two pubs en route back from Stafford on Monday , both had well kept, tasty real ales that I had never tried before. Once out of pub and back in car I have no idea what I drank, except is was good

I thought my pub books with each pub i have visited with beer or brewery and date was good but that puts me to shame.
Once i have been in a pub that is it i will have another drink in there but no comments will be made about it.
    ONCE IS ENOUGH.

That's it then, all as it should be. With me it's likely to be the other way round, I can usually remember what I drank, where, is often a little hazy.
Anyways, Mrs'rd', bless her, always knows how much I've drunk. Too much usually..........

Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........

Looking up the web for some info I came across yet another page in this chap's arsenal of pub info - this page lists every pub that has been in the Good Beer Guide and the appropriate years. Hmmm...

An impressive effort for sure, but I’m with arwkrite, here: the chap is a probably a list-obsessive. I keep a gig list (inspired by Roger’s list, so thought why not?) and record the beers I have drink throughout the week for our ‘beer-of-the-week’ thread. If this site should ever go, I’ll loose all my records, but it’s just a bit of fun.
