    Decent week:

    Butcombe Haka
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Adnams Ghost Ship*
    Brancaster Oystercatcher*
    Milestone World Cup Gold
    Settle Brewery Ernie's Milk Stout*
    Castle Rock Screech Owl*
    Elgoods Black Dog*
    Wye Valley Wholesome Stout*

Some quality old favourites and one or two very good new ones, to me. Enjoyed all the dark beers but BOTW has to be Castle Rock Screech Owl passing the 3 pint test with ease in the ever excellent Seven Stars.

Pimlico ,Hertford and Skipton with some decent beers.

Elaphant School Brewing -- White Elephant
    Stealth -- Tiptoe *
    Stealth -- Sub Rosa *
    Stealth -- Hugger Muggery *
Mure Tilquin -- Gueuzerie Tilquin * (keg)
    Elgood -- Warrior
Mc Mullen -- Country Bitter (3PT)
    Bingley -- Dr Rudi *
    Timothy Taylor -- Landlord
    Timothy Taylor -- Landlord Dark
LAMB -- Speakeasy Cream Ale *

BOTW goes to Stealth Hugger Muggery ,a beautiful coffee porter with a very dry, bitter finish which just tempts another on top form among several of their brews in the ever reliable Cask.

Next week hopefully some boating after minor electrical work, but not much else on the horizon.

A meet-up with old friends provided a very rare Monday afternoon session, this week.

    Oakham - Citra.*
    Rudgate - Vanilla Mild.
    Fernandes - Luis Fernandes Porter.*
    Tigertops - Strada.*
    Mallinsons - American SIPA.
    Lords - Midnight Rambler.

Very little between the Citra and the Strada, both were excellent. However, I thought the latter had a little more complexity. Taken at Luis Bar @ Fernandes.

Just Localish (16 mile radius) this past week.

    Cask
    Castle Rock Black Gold*
    Siren Mesmerist*
    Tiny Rebel Yeah Buddy
Elephant School Get Jiggy Wit It*
    Wantsum Green Hop Ernest
    Vibrant Forest Inaudable*
    Fell Cuppa Joe*

    Keg
    Disruption New Age Outlaw*
Disruption Chimp Orders Pizza And Leaves Nice Tip*
    Yonder Black Forest Gateaux*
    Deya Hokum Stomp*
    Maverick Sequoia Project*
    Maverick Cadence *
    Tesselate*

The Castle Rock Black Gold was an excellent mild but keg outshone cask in general, the three Maverick beers were all very good and interesting but just shading Deya Hokum Stomp is BOTW Yonder Black Forest Gateaux from The Ten Tun Tap House who have incidentaly now started brewing in their new attached micro brewery with the first couple of beers being ready for sometime in early November.

This week concludes over three days in Sheffied so expecting a decent list and a few new pubs.

Schoolboy error not even having a pen to tick off the many thirds sampled at Nottingham beer festival, Salem Porter was an early one - I remember thinking blackberries, though not specifically mentioned in the tasting notes.
Pubs, of course, featured before and after the fest, and during a next-day debrief in Beeston and I'm going for the first (and second) of the day, Black Iris' Snake Eyes, on twinkling form to start the jamboree, taken at King Billy, which one of the boys insisted I had previously visited but a pub which felt like a new and enjoyable tick to me!
