    The Golden Hind is now just The Hind (as per BS's review, confirmed by WhatPub?)

    Thanks for that. A bit of a shame, though, as the Golden Hind was Francis Drake's ship in which he circumnavigated the world. It feels like we've lost touch with history - there are now only six pubs of that name left on this site.

    Quite agree. I wonder whether it's yet more political correctness/pandering to attention seeking under-achievers, or ignorance of history on the part of the owners.
