An early vote for Robinson's seasonal Battering Ram (4.0%).

A proper autumnal ale, dark and malty, and doing great business as the guest ale in the village club at a bargain £2.25.

It is also made from Bullion hops, which is a new variety to me.

I think Bullion is quite old(introduced in the 1920s-I remember people growing it in the 70s or 80s, and I don't seem to think my neighbour grows them now.

Pretty easy choice this week, as I don't expect to come across anything much this weekend. Elgood's Greyhound, a couple of pints from a fresh barrel, that's why I drink real ale.
Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........

A damn fine ale drinking week, so honourable mentions for Butts Barbus Barbus (Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage), Fat Cat Cougar (Maltings, York), Rudgate Ruby Mild (Blue Bell, York) and Haviestoun October Hopfest(Crathorne Arms, Teesside) but BOTW is Salamander Werewolf Porter. as served in the Brigantes in York.

I wanted the Fat Cat Cougar in Maltings, but it hadn't come on the days we were there. Glad it was worthy of a mention.

No pub this week, but for consolation I broached the first of many Gadds Faithful Dogbolter Porter, a lovely dark malty hoppy delight-what Autumn is designed for.

A couple of weaker beers stood out this week, one was the Nethergate IPA but my BotW goes to Thornbridge Wild Swan.
I've just joined Alcoholics Anonymous - I still drink, just under a different name.
