Thanks A&H. It is hopefully just a temporary arrangement although I don't know what her understanding of the word temporary is. She's cleared me out of tea bags and toilet rolls but did pop in on Sunday and make me breakfast so all is not lost. She works away from home a lot these days so being stuck on my own isn't such a new experience and it will give me a chance to sharpen up some domestic skills without inteference! At least I will have the remote all to myself from now on.

Cheated a bit this week as I was at a Meet the Brewer event in the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill on Friday, where I drank the full cask range of Brew Dog. I liked them all, 5am Saint was the best.

After some mountain biking on the South Downs, we returned to the Bridge Inn to find a pump offering King's Summer Ale, with an attached note reading: "last of the Summer Ale, fill your boots!". If I hadn't been driving, I would have done. Lovely stuff - perfect for a late(!) summer's day - pale, lightly-hopped and refreshing. Maybe they'd been keeping it specially?

Better even than Dark Star American Pale Ale in the Harp, I'd say (although that one was a little late in the day).

To be honest so did I. The band's influence is definitely in there somewhere. I wouldn't be surprised if the brewery dog story is to head off any possible threat of litigation.

I once saw Pere Ubu at the Festival Hall. They performed a live soundtrack to the old 50's Sci-Fi film "It Came From Outer Space" which was simultaneously screened on a backdrop behind the band...in 3D. One of the more bizarre gigs I have been to. Oh, and support came from the Electric Prunes.

To be honest, I'd have been more surprised if you hadn't seen them.

    P.S. Only once?

Yes. Beer and 3D glasses don't mix.

A relatively quiet drinking-week for HTM69, with only the 12 pints consumed over the weekend and Mon-Fri being totally alcohol-free.
