Likewise, havent been to Gloucester for a long time either. Looks like there might be enough there to sustain a day, but will bow to others with personal experience

I'll throw in Lewes, although maybe to deep south for a good attendance but some good pubs and it's not all Harveys. Won't get me many ticks though.

Have we ever done Bath on an official PuG crawl ? Havent personally been there in a while..
Looking at BF's excellent A Brief History of PuG Crawls it appears Bath was tackled in Feb 2011, which doesn't necessarily prelude it from a revisit. I was going to throw Southampton into the ring, as I couldn't see it on BF's list, but as per Moby, appreciate this is as south as it gets.

Bath should certainly be on the list, the 2011 crawl was quite small and eclectic.

Southampton is a decent shout,I visited briefly two years ago but didn't go to many pubs. There seemed a lot of walking involved to create a crawl, but I'm sure other know this territory better than me and can advise.

Bath would be pretty good for me if it is a Friday, I can invoke contractor hours and bunk off early and be there within an hour.

I know it very well now, so I can be picky about where I decide to tope...seen it all before!

The better pubs are extremely well spread. With a fair bit of dross imbetween.

I agree that Southampton is too thinly spread - really needs a fair bit of bus travel which gets impractical for a group. Bath and Exeter I have done a fair amount of but wouldn't rule out. Lewes I love but it might be a bit small. Gloucester I don't know and would support. There are a few areas of Greater London that could be done, but that can get a bit pricey. Stretching 'South' a bit, how about Cardiff?
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

Seconded. A few gems, but a lot of walking

Of those mentioned, Cambridge is the most doable from the north(east).
