Default A bit of darts history

I'm not sure if anyone on here is interested in a list of News of the world darts winners since 1927, but the pubs of the two finalists in each year have their affiliated pubs mentioned against their names and I found it interesting as I have been in a few of these pubs and never knew they had ex world champions.

I remember 3 years ago, I was practising my darts in local pub then a man came up asked me for a couple of games. I gladly accepted and we agreed on 301 game. As I asked him what his name and his name was "Scott Mitton"

He started off with 60,60 and 57 with 121 left then I hit rather measly 60. Mitton then hit Treble 19, Treble 16 and Double 8 for 6 darter!! I was gobsmacked what I have just seen....

6 darter in 301 game is equivalent to 9 darts in 501.

3 months later, he was completing in UK Open.. What I hasn't realised that he is County player!

Still I was there witness the moment of history even through I was in wrong end!

Andy Fordham ran a pub in Dartford (the Rose) for a couple of years. He is a decent enough chap but every time I went in there he was in front of the bar watching the TV with his linguistically challenged mates rather than working behind it. He was certainly a better darts player than publican.

Thought this a good place to mention that I've just got back from the Lakeside and was witness to a classic match!

I am not sure if this shoulf come here or the famous people in a pub thread

Doing Willenhall again last night, I was in the Acorn playing darts - we kept Wayne 'the Wanderer' Jones off the dart board!
