Excellent Beer this past week, all bar the first four on the list by way of the Easter Beer Festival at The Alfred, another day to go tomorrow. All the beers are cask despite some of the very crafty brewers involved.

    Loddon Wolf Quad
    Butts BackGuard Porter*
    T.Taylor Knowle Spring
    Otter Hawthorn Pale Ale
    Vibrant Forest Inaudible*
    Vibrant Forest Cambrian Root*
    Roosters & Elusive Assassins Trail*
    Nightjar Hermit Crab Of Hope*
    Saltaire & Roosters Black Forest*
Vocation & Vault City Banana Cookie Dough Cheesecake Stout*
    Wantsum Clerics Consolation*
    Burnt Mill Big Sur Moon*
Arbor & Bristol Beer Factory Power Couple
    Goffs Jester 25
    Elusive Lyris*
Elusive & Burning Sky Day By Day*
    Engine Project (Brunswick) Persephone*
    Beak & Deya Crocco*
    Disruption Law Of Mind*

Most were pretty good and the very best was Roosters & Elusives Assassins Trail, a blend of two modern day classics, Baby Faced Assassin and Oregon Trail and BOTW, closely followed by a tip top Vibrant Forest Cambrian Root.

    Harlow and London Heritage.

    McMullen -- IPA
    McMullen -- AK
    St Austell -- Proper Job
    Greene King -- IPA
    "Gales" -- Seafarer
    St Austell -- Tribute
    Fullers -- "Dark Star" Hophead

The trouble with searching out heritage pubs in London is the sometimes disappointing ale options,so BOTW by default was Fullers Dark Star Hophead in the Blythe Hill Tavern.

Next week looks very promosing,Oxford by boat then the Norwich crawl, should be excellent.

Yes. Heritage pubs frequently don't sell anything as a standout drink.

If in Oxford, the newly revamped The Lamb & Flag is worth a look.

BOTW goes to Nethergate – Umbel Magna **¾ at The Barrel Vault (JD Wetherspoon).

Low on variety, high on quality.

Just Oakham Bishops Farewell and BOTW Thornbridge Jaipur IPA this week but both were excellent zipped through the 3 pint test.
