The Oregon Trail was excellent but will go with a new beer for me this week , less potent but equally excellent, full bodied and flavoursome for a 3.5% beer, Marble Thasos, taken in the Ten Tun Taphouse.

The only really memorable pint ,and hence BOTW is Dark Star Pacific Dawn IPA in solid nick in the charming Red Lion.
Next week three days in Scotland reprising pubs in Glasgow and Edinburgh.Hoping for decent ale and some interesting venues.

The Hammerhead, a 5.6% ruby stout, was probably the best I've had from this brewery and the Novus, as is usual for Byatt's now, was very good.
BOTW Millstone True Grit. An favourite rarely seen this far south. A full flavoured, 5%, citrussy pale.

BOTW took me by surprise, this week. I tried it out of a ticker's curiosity and was expecting something sickly sweet, but it actually had quite a dry finish. Probably couldn't manage more than a pint, but it was certainly different. Sampled in The Polka Hop.
