A pub is for life not just for Christmas
Kent:
Old Dairy (now contract brewed elsewhere)-Red Top 3.8%abv. A fair reinterpretation of this old favourite.
Only with Love-Halland 4.9%abv.Unassuming oatmeal stout.
My BOTW-Red Top.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
Not too much variety but plenty of beer:
Hop Back Summer Lightening*
Guinness (keg)
TT Landlord
Oakham Bishops Farewell*
Twickenham Naked Ladies*
The old favourites were, as ever, excellent but BOTW was Twickenham Naked Ladies. Golden, thirst quenching and hoppy giving a lovely, moreish bitter finish.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
Horsham,Clapham Junction and Croydon.
Robinsons -- Dizzy Blonde
Gun -- Scaramanga Extra Pale *
Marble -- Uppe Hela Natten *
Firebird -- Paleface APA
Firebird -- Mandarina Vit *
Downlands -- Devils Dyke *
Surrey Hills -- Shere Drop *
Oakham -- Bishops Farewell
Oakham -- Citra * (3PT)
BOTW goes to Marble Uppe Hela Natten ,a great coffee porter in tip top condition in The Anchor Tap,my highlight pub of a large crawl around Horsham.
Next week looks sparse .
"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
It's bloody good stuff when done well and seems to be a staple at the The Barrel Vault (JD Wetherspoon), where it's good (this week) to excellent (last week).
