Four pints of Bass were sunk in Sun Inn around noon on new year's eve.

Next week Chester. Recommendations welcome, or it's the Boot...

    South Norwood and St Pancras.

Brew York -- S'moor Tonkoko *(keg)
    Oakham -- Inferno *(3PT)
    Twickenham -- Honey Dark *
    Twickenham -- Naked Ladies
    Adnams -- Ghost Ship

BOTW goes to Twickenham Honey Dark,an unusual brew easy on the honey but there in the background with a dark chocolate aroma. Not really sessionable but interesting.Taken in the Barrel Vault.

Next week rail strikes playing havoc with footie and drinking plans, could be very modest.

A very good standard of beer in the post Christmas week.

    Oakham Below Zero*
    Kent Yule Log
    Kelham Island Pale Rider*
    Flowerpots Perridge Pale
    Elusive Majora (keg)
    Elusive Majora (cask)*
    Elusive Oregon Trail*
    Elusive Lebkuchen Stout*
    Cloudwater Fuzzy*
    Magpie Cream Courser*
    Wantsum Baa Humbug*
    Plain Ales California Dreaming
    Rivington Clouded Eyes*
    Disruption Demokracy*
    Wander Beyond Peak*

But way out in front was an exceptional NBSS 4.5+ (tempted to give it a 5) Kelham Island Pale Rider.jpeg, the fact that Thornbridge are now brewing it hasn't damaged the beer one bit, dare I say improved it, presented in perfect condition in The Wonston Arms.

    Limited list but decent quality:

    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Salopian Golden Thread
    Brancaster Brewdolph*
    Adnams Ghost Ship*
    Greene King Abbot Reserve

The Abbot Reserve was much better than standard Abbot but I'm not sure that it deserves the accolades given by some. I preferred BOTW Brancaster Brewdolph. With a name like that it has to be a seasonal, Christmas beer but I think this year's may be better than last. Initially it's malty and almost too sweet but that's offset by Christmas spices and a refreshing bitterness. Three pints? No problem.
