Three in 12 months - only previous one was more than 20 years ago! Go figure.

I tend to take naproxen if I feel an attack coming on.

Naproxen is an NSAID, like colchicine which I was prescribed. I had a three day course and had a few stomach pains so opted for a five day course of a steroid, which had no side effects (that I've been made aware of, so far).

I note the later advice here regarding allopurinol, but my main medicine should be lots more water - unless it also contains hops and barley I drink hardly any, other than with my daily cocktail of tablets, thyroid, blood pressure etc

Yes, I've started drinking more water than I used to. The main effect has been to wake me up three times in the night. The gout's been better this week with a short cycling trip - so perhaps dehydration is the thing.


That water mixed with hops and barley sounds good. Do I need a prescription for that?

Now on 48, will struggle to make 100 for the year as things stand at the moment.

Things are are finally on the up and 20 in June brings me to 68.

Twelve new pubs in May took me throught the century to 104 year to date.June includes the week long booze cruise with new tick potential in Stourbridge ,Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.

....and so it proved with the half year total reaching 117 new pubs,a bit ahead of my long term avarage and meaning that 200 for the year could be achieved.

July is all about Harrogate ,which could be large,but outside that little else planned due to prior commitments.

Three pubs in Seaton Carew/Canoe on Saturday.

One was a pre-emptive Guinness, another I had a sample due to high suspicion that was confirmed therefore a lager, but a few cracking pints in Nine Anchors. Never seen a place quite like it.
