Default Unusual artwork in Knaresborough pub windows

I often come across strange things when approving photos, so I really ought to post them on here for everyone to 'enjoy'!

This week I spotted a couple of places in Knaresborough that have paintings of windows in place of the real windows. Take a look at the Market Tavern and Blind Jacks.

It turns out that these things are part of the Knaresborough Town Windows Project

I thought I'd found a third when I got to the H art Sports Bar, but that turned out to be a pair of Middlesbrough FC shirts. At which point I probably should wish Middlesbrough the best of luck in returning to winning ways following their first defeat in the Championship this season.

    hi Dave

i have seen 'blind' windows in some jacobean houses and such like, but not in pubs, that i recall. It would confuse the drunks that try to put a chair through them - also, i wonder, if the way things are going, the government brought window tax back in - would they be liable?

Don't make suggestions like that. Since the smoking ban I have been enjoying the fact that most pubs are at last opening their curtains as you can suddenly see out of the Windows. We don't want to see them being bricked up. Also I would imagine it hurts a lot more being thrown through a bricked up Window.
