Kent and Sarf of the River: An old school wander round The Borough afforded most of this week's entertainment.

Rother Valley-Boro Bitter 4%abv. Hard traditional bitter.
Harvey's-Dark MILD 3%abv. An old favourite in tiptop condition.
    Harvey's-Armada 4.5%abv.Sussex BB's suave elder brother.Oatty.
Brakspear/Marston-Gravity 3.4%abv.Old school malt led cooking bitter.
Dark Star-Orbiter Best Bitter 4% abv.Undistinguished for a beer from this brewery.
Navigation-NZ IPA 5.2% abv.Tropical fruit to the fore.

A tight race between Armada,Dark MILD and NZ IPA, with Harvey's Armada claiming the honours.

Just a couple of local pubs a one of near the current workplace and a saunter around Wapping that wasn't expected to throw up too much excitement in the Beer stakes.

    Sam Smiths Extra Stout
    Harveys Sussex Best
    Beavertown Neck Oil
    Stella
    Sambrooks Pumphouse Pale
    Vibrant Forest Inaudible*
    Butcombe Citra
    Butcombe Rare Breed
    Flowerpots Perridge Pale
    New Bristol 365
    Pollys Humming Error*
    London Beer Factory Voodoo*
    White Horse Luna Citra Star*
    White Horse EPA*
    Elusive Road To Darkness*
    Pennine Scapegoat
Disruption People Of The Hop Vol 3*

Not an easy choice because last weeks winner , The Road To Darkness was way out there again, but this week goes to keg and Disruption People Of The Hop Vol 3. Hops used in thes version are Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin and Mortueka. The Alfred strikes again.

A fairly dull week, all cask:

    Brewhouse - Tramshed
    Burning Sky - Aurora **
    Dark Star - Hophead **
    ELB - Pale *½
    Five Points - Best *½
Newbarns + Burnt Mills - Present Tense **
    Purity - Mad Goose **
    Redemption - Hazy Pale
    Sambrook's - Wandle
    360º - Bluebell *½
    Oakham - Session Stout **
    St. Austell - Tribute **
    Timothy Taylor - Landlord *½

By a long shot, BOTW goes to Kirkstall - Dexter ***½ taken at The Pembury Tavern. Probably the smoothest beer I've ever had and the best coffee/chocolate combination ever too.

    Tamworth and Burton upon Trent.

Tiny Rebel -- 93 to Infinity
    Neepsend -- Avalou *
    Thornbridge -- Jaipur IPA *
    Purple Moose -- Glaslyn
    Blue Monkey -- Chocolate Stout
Wilde Child -- 4 Demensional Manifold *(keg)
    Mallinsons --Columbus
Play Brew -- Fried Egg Lemon Meringue Sour (keg)
Carnival Brewing -- Happy Cowshake (keg)
Play Brew --White Skull * (keg)
    Oakham -- White Dwarf

A mix of styles from which BOTW emerged as Wilde Child 4 Dimensional Manifold,a 9.5% toasted coconut, vanilla and cacao nib Imperial Stout .With high ABV and not served horribly chilled ,I find it difficult to differentiate between cask and keg when it comes to stouts, and this one was brilliant.A taster then a half, not sure a pint would have been a good idea early doors on a mini Burton crawl ,sampled in The Last Heretic.

Next week a trip to Ally Pally before the final footie of the season.

    Some overlap with the above:

    Tiny Rebel 93 til Infinity
    Neepsend Avalou*
    Thornbridge Jaipur IPA*
Trinity Brewing All Because of Captain Wow*
    Purple Moose Glaslyn Ale
    Blue Monkey Chocolate Stout*
Wild Childe 4 Dimensional Manifold (keg)*
    Deya Steady Rolling Man (keg)*
    Polly's Lupo Capisco (keg)*
    Oakham White Dwarf
    Play Brew White Skull (keg)*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

Some interesting keg beers in there as well as quality cask. Really enjoyed the 4 Dimensional Manifold, the Chocolate Stout and the All Because of Captain Wow. Great dark beers.
BOTW Play Brew White Skull (keg). Described as a 10% white chocolate and raspberry white stout. I can't add to that description as it was the last of the evening but I do remember really enjoying it.
