A pub is for life not just for Christmas
The Fountain A comparative rarity in Kent, being a Harvey's tied house in a remote village: a proper no frills village pub, serving Harvey's cask beers in good condition.
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
Swindon's Hop Inn. I could have had a happy couple of hours working my way through the cask lines.
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
Enjoyed a bit of time at The White Horse which has significantly improved since my 2010 review. Should update it really.

43 new visits this month with the 6+ pubs listed, the Plimsoll included with an honourable 5 as the mark would have been 6 or over if but for the inclusion of real ale:
The Albion
The Cumberland Arms
The Dartmouth Castle
The Pear Tree
The Plimsoll
Warwick Arms
The Woodbine
Joint winners go to:
Bank of Friendship
The Colton Arms
I wasn't sure how a micropub would work in a city-centre location, but the Hops d'Amour shows what can be done, and this special Camra award say it all really.
It has no name, yet it does of course, The White Horse, decent beer and suitably Trad and rustic.
I must get into review mode at some point.

Not sure it’s Coventry’s first micropub. Beer Gonzo may lay claim to that although it is beyond the inner ring road, as much is in Cov.
A welcome addition to Cov’s drinking choices nonetheless and thank you for flagging it. I’ll certainly be visiting on my next trip. Very close to the reliable Town Wall Tavern too.

Ahhhh yes, The Pub With No Name, on account of there not being a sign in the frame. I'd love to go back after all these years; if only I had a car. Do they still brew their No Name Bitter?
Makes for a great double with The Harrow Inn, one of two - possibly three - remaining pubs with a servery and no bar.
No name bitter was on though I didn't try it, not sure if they brew it or not. Tried to visit the Harrow last week(currently working not too far away) but sat nav told me I had arrived whilst in the middle of the north bound A3! Afternoon closing time was looming so will try again in the next week or two.
