Working on the assumption that these are beers new to the scribe, rather than freshly hatched, my three best new beers are:
    Kent-Beyond the Pale
    Wensleydale-Black Dub
    Old Dairy-Breakfast Stout.

Scrolling through my NBSS scores, only three ales scored 5,namely

    Oakham Green Devil IPA
    Titanic Plum Porter
    Blue Monkey Infinity +1

.....but I've had many pints of these over the years,so "New " Beer of the Year goes to

Five Towns Algorithm Dodger ,a powerful but delicate blueberry double IPA sampled in Henry Boons,on a big night out in Wakefield while boating. It unhinged some of the crew.

    3rd: BrewDog Mallow Laser Quest
    2nd: Titanic Wreckage
1st: Titanic Grand Reserve Plum Porter

Latter two both taken at Oxford's superb Royal Blenheim.

I'm not a particular fan of Titanic Plum Porter but tried the Grand Reserve last Thursday and found it to be a far more balanced beer than the bog standard version, quite enjoyed it.

Running through the BOTW lists for the year revealed more new, quality ales than I'd remembered. Funny that.

Two stand out: The Five Towns Algorithm Dodger, as mentioned by the skipper above, and Tamworth Brewing Company Whopper. Nothing to do with Burger King but brewed and drunk at the excellent Tamworth Tap.

Not an awful lot of pub time in 2021, so choice was rather limited. Surprisingly, my top three were all dark beers, which is probably a reaction to drinking mostly pale and hoppy brews at home.

3rd: Stancill - Treason (4.5%). 'Spiced Yorkshire Parkin Porter'.
    2nd: Nailmaker - Chocolate Safari Stout (5.5%).
1st: Wensleydale - Silk Road (6.5%). 'Cocoa milk stout'.
