Mine do too, they just shouldn't have to.

Thanks Tris. I think this one (then the Mitcham Mint) was even worse. I assumed the dogs were only playfighting as there was no blood!

It was your review that ensured I didn't venture out this far on my Bow crawl. I had photographed it a few years ago and it looked bad then.

Neither dogs or children should be in pubs.on Thursday I was in the black dog brentford early afternoon.8 customers one well behaved dog and one inquisitive 2 Yr old child.children should be inquisitive but not in a fecking pub.if I was to vote the child and idiot father rather than the dog should have been ejected.

I think children should be kept in a children's room or restaurant area and should be under control at all times, That's how it worked when I was a child.

If dogs weren't allowed in half the rural pubs in Somerset would go out of business.

Absolutely children should be banned from pubs, until at least the age of 21. They are allowed to crawl all over the place and if someone's carrying a tray, the view of the floor is concealed; it would be very easy to tread on one. When my dad smuggled me into pubs as a kid, I'd sit obediently on a chair; if I'd gone roaming, I'd have felt the back of his hand.

Perhaps lock them in the cellar? You are right in that a lot of rural pubs are heavily dependent on dog walkers.

Mrs Ale here- I totally agree. If there's a choice between kids and dogs in pubs, the dogs win every time...

Well, yes. But on the other hand, kids don't generally stick their noses in your nether regions or lick your hand. But perhaps the kids you've come across are different.

Worse than that, in a well known former sports pavilion in SW London we were sat opposite a couple having their lunch accompanied by an incontinent dog. The creature shat messily on the carpet. The bloke made an attempt to clear it up then went back to his lunch, hands unwashed. The staff didn't appear to give a toss.

We left and will never enter that pub again.
