    Default Somerton Mini-crawl

Somerset CAMRA is running a mini-crawl on 11 December to Somerton, the first one I've had the chance to join since moving here 5 years ago. Well, the first one that's been within cycling distance anyway. The main body will be meeting in Taunton Wetherspoons and getting a minibus, then there are 5 pubs, including one micro, in Somerton to occupy us all for the afternoon.

Saturday 11th December for those members starting at Taunton:

10:30 hrs meet for breakfast in Perkin Warbeck

11:40 hrs bus 54 to Somerton

    12:30 hrs arrive Somerton

Five pubs, all within 5 minutes walking time, all on West Street or Market Place. Typically 16 cask beers between the 5 pubs. Most of the pubs have a food offer.

The Etsome Arms GBG listed. 6 fresh beers, all on gravity. Welcome to bring food from nearby chippie into pub.

White Hart Inn GBG listed. Otter Bitter, Cheddar Potholer, Fine Tuned Somerset Soul on tap last week.

    The Globe Inn

    The Unicorn Hotel

    The Royal Oak

16:43 hrs bus 54 to Taunton

    17:32 hrs arrive Taunton

from Yeovil: Bus 54, depart 11:45 hrs, arrive 12:13 hrs

return: depart 17:00 hrs, arrive 17:33 hrs

    I'll be cycling back via:

    Halfway House

    The Black Swan

    Lamb & Lion

Rather you than me, with eight pubs on your itinerary! Also it will be dark by the time the others leave the last pub in Somerton. Maybe I'm just getting too cautious in my old age.

Quiet country roads, a gallon of beer, Saturday night - what could possibly go wrong?

    Possibly a multitude of things.
