Default First new beer tick of 2021!

Serious Endeavour in The Baum about 4 hours ago.

I'm not always a fan of Ken's light beers.

I personally think his dark one's are better.

Serious Moonlight, for example, is excellent.

However, this one is pleasantly hopped, with, of course Endeavour hops and quite quaffable.

    Cheers Ken.

I'm not really a beer ticker as such, but the new Stancill Porter was on at the Closed Shop yesterday. A bit too chocolatey for my taste - their previous porter was much more easy drinking. I don't know why they called this one Paisley Porter, and I didn't know what strength it was, so Googled it: Paisley Porter (don't try this at home!).

Try this one instead: Stancill Paisley Porter

Get cosy with Paisley! It's 4.0%. Don't know about the other one.

Haven't been to the pub yet and don't really fancy it at the moment either. Virtually every pub I've passed has reversed/no clips and the thought of sitting out in an unseasonably chilly April doesn't appeal. Why is real ale seemingly almost out of bounds?

Plenty of real ale in my neck of the woods, and generally in good nick too. Been to three different pubs so far but no new ticks.

Not a beer ticker but as we've only just been allowed back it was easy to pick out the three new beers to me all drunk here:
Braybrooke Keller Lager - a properly tasty, not overly carbonated lager brewed locally which went down very well.
Brew York Goose Willis - a gooseberry sour which I thought may be a touch tart but it was spot on. Very refreshing and may have been better appreciated as a first one after a day in the sunshine rather than as dusk was falling and the temperature beginning to drop.
Nene Valley Brewery Egyptian Cream - a milk stout which was ideal to round the evening off.

As Moby says, no problem with finding real ale. 12 pub visits since April 12th to 8 different pubs. All had sensible and easy to navigate covid guideline precautions. All outside obviously, which has meant an extra layer or two for evening visits, but all slightly different yet effective. Most importantly, all had excellent beer and I'm very pleased to be back to the pub where I've enjoyed some top beer in good company.
