So sad to hear the news about Auqalung.Strangly enough I read his obituary last night and thought this guy was an interesting character and then on re-reading it tonight saw all the clues leading to who it was.Sadly missed.

Sad to hear, was only on phone to Tony Peach today about any forthcoming trips, pleased to report he's hale and hearty.

Very sad news indeed: I enjoyed his contributions to the forum, and his opinions on various obscure Essex pubs that I was planning on visiting.

RIP Aqualung. If we had a Hall of Fame, you'd be in it.

    Very sad to hear this.

I always made a point of chatting to Aqualung early in a crawl as I knew he was likely to be drifting off on his own and I may miss him later. Sadly I'm not very talkative until I've had 2-3 pints so never had a really good chat.

Will definitely try to make a memorial crawl if I'm free.

Very sad to hear this news - an excellent contributor to this site, particularly his extensive knowledge and reviews of all things Wetherspoon. I'll try to make the memorial crawl too.

Very sad to hear about Aqualung.
I had my longest individual chat with him on the Shrewsbury trip after my early arrival for a 'Spoons breakfast. He was already there after his slow stroll from the Premier Inn. After a very informative chat, about pubs and beer of course! it was time for us to walk to The Salopian Bar meetup pub. He said that as he walked very slowly, it was OK by him if I walked on ahead. I said I would walk with him as it was only Five "Aqualung minutes" away and he is a year younger than me! He was always amused when I described pubs as 10 minutes (20 Aqualung minutes) from the station.
After having a drink with him and a couple of other early arrivals at the Salopian, I said "See you later" but we didn't meet up again that day or since.
I also noticed he made almost daily visits to the forum since his last post, hoping he might post again, but after his last visit in January I did have a concerned feeling something wasn't right.
