Default Beer of the Week (w/e 14th March 2021)

    28 days to the pub:

    Bottles:
    Oakham Citra
    Oakham Green Devil IPA

    Cans:
    Vibrant Forest Faithful Steed
    Oakham Black Magic
    Vibrant Forest Elmo
    Northern Monk New World IPA
    Vocation Smash and Grab
    Vibrant Forest End of Days
    Marble Lagonda

I was impressed by the Faithful Steed, a pilsner bought on an impulse, but BOTW has to be Marble Lagonda which accompanied wins by both Northampton Saints and England on Saturday sailing straight through the 3 tin test and beyond.

No duff beers at all this week:
Wilde Child Marching On Together Pale 6.0%
Black Isle Rolling Palace IPA 6.0%
Duration Bet The Farm Pale 4.5%
Wilde Child Uncontrollable Occurrence Pale 4.8%
    Kirkstall Raynville Chocolate Porter 5.5%
Belhaven Speyside Oak Aged Blonde 6.5% (bottle)
    Black Sheep Riggwelter 5.7% (bottle)
Nogne O Imperial Stout 9.0% (bottle)
Williams Bros Brel Belgian IPA 5.7%
    Westmalle Dubbel 7.0% (bottle)
Triple Point New World Tripel 9.3%
Brew York Cereal Killa IPA 6.5%
    Abbeydale Deliverance IPA 8.0%

I've described some of these in detail on the Pubs Galore Bar thread. I especially enjoyed Uncontrollable Occurrence, Speyside Blonde and Brel, but beer of the week was a toss up between Cereal Killa and Deliverance. Very close call but the Abbeydale beer, a West Coast IPA with amarillo, centennial and simcoe, just wins it by a whisker.

Modest week with a few remnent cans consumed.

    Vibrant Forest -- Antidote
Vibrant Forest -- Black Oktober *
Vibrant Forest -- Precipice of Light
    Thornbridge -- Jaipur IPA *

BOTW goes to Vibrant Forest Black Oktober ,a good traditional Russian Imperial Stout.

Awaiting a Marble delivery to distract during this final month of enforced pub closure.

Like Will all good beers and another tight decision.

    Brew York A Chocolate Story
    Brew York Cereal Killa
    Brew York S'more Tonkoko
    BBNo 05 (East Coast IPA)
    Deya Steady Rolling Man
    Siren Soundwave
    Siren Granola Coaster
    Siren/Salt/North Brew One Through Three
    Lost And Grounded Sunset People
Anspach & Hobday The 1st Variant IPA

I never thought I'd have a Brown Ale as a BOTW, but then Siren do things different,Siren Granola Coaster.jpg was quite amazing, description as follows...

"An invigorating brown ale full of twists and turns. A hearty grist of specialist barley, wheat and oats is embellished with our granola blend of toasted coconut, rich dark sugars, a touch of spicy amburana and moreish maple chips. The sweetness is dialled back by a roasty backbone, orange zest and fruity Mosaic bitterness."

Are they still using the utterly useless APC couriers? I ordered a delivery of Manchester from them in June and it's yet to arrive. They apologised profusely saying they'd had terrible trouble with APC. I've contacted them by email and phone six times though not since September when I can never get through. I might give them another try, but otherwise I'm £57 down.

Sorry to hear about your horrendous troubles with APC. I've just had a delivery from Gadd's in Ramsgate: ordered on Friday, packed and dispatched via APC on Monday, delivered half an hour ago. No problems.

Still ordering very regularly from Marble. No problems at all.

They are currently using APC Overnight and I had no trouble with a delivery back in January ,nor did my son who got a delivery from them to his flat in Greenwich.
