Adnams Broadside, 6.3% in a bottle, I would have needed a lot more than one to make the Manchester derby bearable...

Did manage a meal outing to a former pub,but beer consumption focussed on a dark beer selection box from Titanic and various cans.

    Titanic -- Cappuccino Stout (b)
    Thornbridge -- Jaipur IPA * (c)
    BrewDog -- Elvis Juice (c)
    Titanic -- Stout (b)
    Titanic -- Plum Porter * (b)
    Vocation -- Life & Death * (c)
BrewDog -- Dead Pony Club (c)

BOTW goes to Titanic Plum Porter where the house bitter style works well against the sweetness.I found their other stouts tried during the week to be slightly too bitter for a stout .

Next week two table meal sessions to maintain some form of sociability before the Christmas malarky.

    Cask at last:

    Adnams Ghost Ship (cask)*
    Moon Gazer Bouchart (cask)*
    Brancaster Oystercatcher (cask)*
    Marble Lagonda
    Oakham Citra
    Northern Monk New World IPA
    Northern Monk Heathen IPA
    Siren Twisted Breakfast Stout
    Marble Berimbolo
    Marble Cubbio Damage
    Brewdog Elvis Juice

A few days in Norfolk found a couple of pubs open and serving cask so that gets the week's stars even though the cans and bottles were good.
All three were excellent, no surprise after 6 weeks without, but BOTW goes to Moon Gazer Bouchart. The best I've had from this brewery, it's a 4.9% mild with hedge fruits and some sweetness but not too much. Three pints were easily demolished on a chilly evening.

All cask except the last five in cans.

    Ascot Gold Cup
    Ascot Ghost Horse
    Disruption Single Hop Amarillo
A Bloke Down The Pub Gorgeous Gary
A Bloke Down The Pub Handy Andy
    Hilltop One Hop Blonde
    Potbelly Piggin Saint
    Banks & Taylor Plum Mild
    Salt/Pomona Island Shoop (c)
    Salt IKAT (c)
    Vocation Love & Hate (c)
    BrewDog/Evil Twin Roaster Coaster (c)
    London Beer Factory Zia (c)

BOTW is Ascot Ghost Horse, Ascot Ghost Horse.jpg a beer that would likely divide opinion, described as a dry hopped milk porter it tasted to me very much a Black IPA apart from the addition of lactose, the hops yeilding an orangey taste, a weird sounding mixture but I found myself having more than one.

I noticed you liked the LBF -zia. I have had it twice and first one I though was very good but very sweet. The second time found the sweetness was quite overpowering but still a good beer.Thought to myself probably not buy that beer again.Today I went into an estate agents who I do work for and they had bought me 12 cans of.(wait for it).yes ZIA

Loved the first can, the second one tried a week later was overpoweringly sweet and I struggled to finish it. not planning to buy any more.
